Out of curiosity, why did Lisa Noble abstain (yet again) from voting. Seems as if a position on the BOD would want someone willing to actually vote on the important issues?

Re: Pro Solo Finale
Does anyone know what happened that caused Scott Nardin to DSQ at the Pro Solo Finale? Mike Hi Mike, A bunch of the "One Eventers" got DSQ'd because they didn't work during the challenge rounds. Pretty simple really. Hope that helps, Chris H. (friend of Curtis and Pam's, use to co drive w...

Re: MaxQData data aquisition
I've used it quite a bit. I already had the unit from my days of national autocross with the STi, so I was already setup with a pda and all the software. For me, it is a nice tool. I'm fairly new to the FV world, so it has proven good for me to compare laps, sections of track etc. I'm still gaining ...

Re: VARA's First Annual Formula Vee Race
VARA is vintage, but they have a couple "outlaw" (my own words) classes for FVs running slicks, or modded too far outside vintage rules. FV, FV1, FV2 etc. This would be a great event to run. I've run Buttonwillow once in my FV, and had a blast. But I haven't run with VARA, and don't really...

Re: Spring Pack question
Excellent summary.
I went through this same problem two years ago, when I rebuilt my first vw beam. This stuff is easy...after you've done everything at least once!

WTB: Long Box or Long Box Build Services
Good Morning, I'm looking for a long box. I'm located in NorCal, so I would prefer something west coast based to minimize shipping/pickup. Or... Looking for a supplier willing to convert a trans to long box. I have a spare FV trans currently setup with unknown (but reportedly "very short")...

Re: What make of vee is this?
Looks like an AutoDynamics to me. The keys are how the front beam mounts on the forward most vertical bars, and the rear cross bar behind the engine being in a /\ shape. Pretty much identical to mine. A few slight differences in the middle cross supports, and of course, yours doesn't have a roll hoo...

Re: Question about Rule C.9.O
I should have included this with the original post, as I figured the definition of "Faired in" or "fairing" would come into play. Per Appendix 2, Technical Glossary: Fairing - A covering intended to divert airflow in a specific region of a car, to reduce air drag. Seems to be the...

Question about Rule C.9.O
Per Rule C.9.O: "The rear locating arm(s), coil spring(s), and shock absorber(s) shall not be faired in and shall be visible from the side without removal or manipulation of any part or panel." Out of curiosity, but how do many of the modern FVs competing today legally pass under this rule...

Re: Front Wheel Bearing and Hub assembly Qs
Dietmer, Thank you very much for the offer to call. Luckily, I think I solved my own problem. What is that old saying? "always check the last thing you changed" When I had added another shim to the drivers side lower link pin, I had the backing plate off. I remember losing two of the littl...

Front Wheel Bearing and Hub assembly Qs
Good Evening, I took off my front drums to inspect shoe lining thickness, and prepare for a change of wheel cylinders and flex lines. On the driver side, I noticed that the two top bolts (of the three bolts) that secure the backing plate to the spindle have a groove worn into the head of the bolt. F...

Re: Brake Master Cylinder Sizing
Jut a quick follow up: Got two new 5/8" cylinders installed this past weekend, fresh fluid, everything bled and wheel cylinders adjusted. The results are less pedal travel, and a much stiffer pedal than before. So it looks like a positive result. I'll be running at Buttonwillow on Saturday, so ...

Brake Master Cylinder Sizing
Hello, First off, yes I searched, and I found a thread with a similar title that Keith started. But I had additional questions. One of the master cylinders on my AD has sprung a nice leak, and the other has issues with galled up threads on the brake pipe connection. I have been fighting small seeps,...

Re: Latest Fastrac
You seem to believe that the majority of FVs are at the existing minimum weight. If this is the case, then there is no need at all for any adjustment, and the argument is moot, as there is obviously not a problem to be addressed. Out of curiosity, what percentage of current FVs do you think are at ...

I realize however, that this update to the GCR won't make it legal for the vintage monoposto rules, so I may end up not doing it for that reason.

Re: Latest Fastrac
I'm totally new to FV, but was somewhat surprised to find this allowance brought up. I figured it would be one of those sacred cows that limited what could and couldn't be done with the front end. I'm also a bit surprised to find out how many people have done the "old tricks" to work aroun...

Punch Marks
Dietmar, Thank you for the info on the punch marks. I believe I have found the problem. My punch marks on the "driver" side are opposite. Meaning: -Top link pin bushing has two punch marks, facing down. -Bottom link pin bushing has one punch mark, facing up. The "passenger" side ...
