Re: Kevlar Body Construction
use thin sheets of aluminum and roll it out to match your existing body, it will take some work and you will probibly need to make it out of a few pieces but it can be done without a lot of specal tools and it will save you a ton of weight

Re: Tire Changer
look for a rim clamp tire changer. the center post ones will work but it is way more work. the manual ones are good in a pinch but you will have to have 2 people and a lot of tire lube. I bought a rim clamp changer for $500 and it has payed for itself 10 times over. i bought it from a tire shop who ...

Re: Mono shock zero roll for D-13
I know that it has been done by a lot of other d13 guys out there but I have never heard of anyone ever sticking with it. I asked the same question about the rear shock and I always got the same answer,it works great so why go and try to reinvent the wheel. After you go through all that work and aft...

Re: Bodywork painting
i can think of many reasons to not do the paint work yourself, first it is not as easy as it looks to get a quality paint job on your car. getting the paint on enough to cover the parts and not run off onto the floor is more of a skill than you would think. the paint and clear is pretty bad to breat...

Re: Bodywork painting

ok vw has said that the mag cases are no longer going to be made and have given the bod a part number for the aluminum case, does that mean that we can now use the aluminum case. are there advantages or disadvantages to the aluminum cases? I know that they are expensive ($1000) but will there be any...

Re: Which is worse...Long Box Short Box??
with a short box at limerock you will run out of pull half way down the strait, just past the start finnish line, also you will be around 7000rpm, for a long time. with a long box at nhms you will shift less but you will lose some ground getting up the hill at turn 3. you can stay in third gear from...
