Re: How many Vees???
P.S.: Do you have any names and contact info for SOLOVee owners? Lynn's list of Vee sightings in the plains is depressing. To give a brighter perspective, our local SCCA event here in eastern NY on Sunday had 48 drivers...and 6 of them were in C-Mod! There were two Formula Fords and two Solo Vees, ...

Re: The latest results... MAC requests...
The previous owner of my Vee was running it in A-Mod in a far away region. All of the paperwork implies that it has a basic 1600 with an old Holley Bugspray carb. I never checked it for F-Mod legality, since I wanted to run it in A-Mod for the attendance trophies. At one event, a local driver with a...

Is the 1915 still limited to one carb? Would dual carbs closer to the heads have any performance or throttle response benefit?????

They certainly are not familiar with legitimate online marketing. Actually, they know all about online marketing. It is called SEO - search engine optimization. When Google and other search engines index search results, they give higher rankings to web sites with lots of links to other web sites. H...
Re: Gears
Let me throw in the caution about Solo Vees not necessarily being legal for track use. Silly things like the lack of a modern GCR-legal rollover structure and a 1600cc/1915cc engine make the track racers jealous, meaning that they might not let you play in their sandbox with a true Solo Vee.....

Stan,
Just keep in mind that the Solo Vee spec does not have any ties to GCR. It was developed by the Solo committees, for the unique needs of autocrossers.....

Re: I guess it's official
Long-term, it is going to be a good thing. The snowmobiles (and other F5-class spinoffs like motorcycle-powered F600's) were continually evolving, both in car development and class rules. Given the Solo rules lagging a year or more behind GCR changes, there was no way to gain parity with a moving ta...

I always thought that a gas-powered leaf blower would fit good on the empty generator stand on my Vee. Split the output with a Y hose to each side of the engine, set up a linkage from the throttle cable on the carb to control speeds, and give the F-500 guys a whiff of my own two-stroke oil when they...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
Bringing this thread back onto the topic of F-Mod parity, I have to point out the irony about something that I just realized. Every time us Vee owners suggest that the cheapest way to parity is with a hundred pounds of lead on the F500's, we hear the rationale against doing so being that the suspens...

Re: Kevlar Body Construction
Someone said that you mix the resin with the hardner at 50/50 and I highly sugest you don't do that. 50/50 is for most epoxy resins, which I suggested due to the superior strength over polyester and because polyester attacks certain types of foams. Here's a good quick summary of the resin choices: ...

vrehein, I don't think the foam honeycomb would be too feasible because of the body shape (D-13), but I appreciate your input to my inquiry. Unless it is a hugely complex shape, you can cut kerf slots halfway through the backside of a bend using a razor knife or Dremel tool to allow thin foam to be...

How about making a sandwich core by just putting Kevlar on both sides of a thin piece of foam? Styrofoam-type material is sold by density (pounds per cubic foot), with the pink and blue stuff at Home Depot being between 1.5 and 2.0 lbs/ft^3. Kevlar and composite materials are measured by ounces per ...
