Re: 1968 FV Race Galveston TX
I don't have the actual which was a UPI photo. What you are seeing is a photo of a page from the original 7/12/68 newspaper which is in a binder. A facebook page that I follow has been showing pages from the newspaper (The Morganton, NC News Herald) from 50 years ago. The UPI stock photo must have j...

1968 FV Race Galveston TX
My hometown newspaper ran this photo on July 12, 1968. Action shot of two vees; one flipping over.

Re: Some possible rules questions
Bill, You know a lot more about FV and FST than I ever will. I admire you for what you have done with FST and I haven't even met you, although I've read a lot of your posts over the last 7 or 8 years. I like FST and in a perfect world I would own one and race it. I think all we are doing is talking ...

Re: Some possible rules questions
One question. What do you mean by IRS in the back of the car? There is essentially no difference in the type rear suspension that can be used in FV vs. FST. Am I wrong about this?

Re: Some possible rules questions
First let me apologize for helping this post get off topic. Your original post asked if allowing SOME of the FST "technology" in FV would would help grow the class while not creating performance gains that would require everyone to make the changes. At least I think it was. On the 2nd poin...

Re: Some possible rules questions
I think anyone who thinks Vees are antiquated would think the same about FST. I don't think it would help or change anything to "merge" any of the rules. You can't turn a sows ear into a silk purse. You could change everything you mentioned and not draw any new blood to speak of. A lot of ...

Re: Nashville Super Speedway June 26-28, 2009
I'd like to run that event but I really don't see it happening unless I go back to work in the next week or so.
I was hoping on going back this year and picking up 2-4 seconds.

Re: Late Z-12 or early Z-18 tranny mount needed
I have a '76 Z-12. It's doing it's job right now but I could take a picture and or measure if you want. Don't know if it is original. I know that it is one piece and attaches at the bottom transaxle mounts. There is no "cradle" like on a Citation. On mine the frame is extended to the rear ...

Re: Clutch Operating Arm
I knew I had seen something like that before! That is on the line of what I was thinking, except I was thinking of replacing the stock arm. I have a stock piece that has been heated and bent in something of an s-shape. My rear suspension "carrier" is mounted directly above the operating ar...

Clutch Operating Arm
Does anyone "manufacture" a clutch operating arm that is different from OEM and might allow the use of a heim joint instead of the ball & socket type deal?
