Re: Share your FV 50th Photos...
I would have to say it was well atteneded but NOT well run. Just my 2 cents. I was in Group 1 Vintage. 40 some cars in Group 1 and 4 cars in Group 5. Stupid Stupid. They were concerned more about the modern cars than the true Vintage Vees. Plus the management was the most unhelpful and unhappy bunch...

New pressure plate hitting trans case
I am installing my new motor. It has a new heavy duty pressure plate installed. When turning the motor by hand I noticed there is a raised boss on the pressure plate that is rubing against the top of the trans case. Can I grind this boss down on the pressure plate or should I grind the inside of the...

Vee motor builders in NE
I am looking to get my Vintage Vee motor refreshed.
I live in New Jersey. Does anyone know of any builders
in the Northeast? I would rather deliver the motor
myself instead of shipping.

Link pin shims with angled bushings
I have angled link pin bushings installed on the front end.
Do I still use the total of 10 shims per link pin or would I
have to add more because of the angled bushings?

I am going to be at NJMP on the Thunderbolt with the VSCCA the weekend of the 22 and am going to
run my 67 AD Vee. Any advice on driving the track and also are there many
gear changes? Any help would be very appreciated.

I ended up getting 7/8" dia Steel Swedged tubing with 1/2" ends from Speedway.
Real cheap. I bought 2 sets just in case again.
Thanks for all the replies.

Front steering tie rod replacement
I had a front tie rod bent while I was towed in after I spun at VIR this past weekend. The tow rope got wrapped up in the front as the truck took off with out telling me. Anyway I want to replace them. It is a 67 AD Vintage Vee. The rod on their now is the original rod which is around 3/4" dia....

Re: Problem with Carbotech shoes install
Well I found the problem. It was not thicker shoes. As I was installing my old drums I checked to make sure the shoes were installed ok. I noticed that one of the new angled adjuster screws was thicker on the high side than the other by around 1/16" to 3/32". I pulled the other screws off a...

Re: Problem with Carbotech shoes install
I do have the angled adjusters.I ordered all new star adjusters and angled screws. I got the shoes from Sr Racing and they may have sent me the thicker shoe. My old drums fit fine. I just wanted to use the new drums with the CT shoes. I think I will just sand the older drums since they had stock sho...

Problem with Carbotech shoes install
I am installing a new set of Carbotechs on my vintage vee. I also have a new set of German Drums.
When I install the drums I can barely spin them once I install the bearing nuts. Should
I get the drums tuned down and if so how much? It seems like the new shoes are thicker
than stock.

Re: Tool Recommendation for axle snap ring
I just took a pair of old needle nose pliers and grinded down
the ends to fit the hole in the ring.
They worked perfect. Regular snap ring pliers are to flimsy.
