Re: December Minutes
If I'm not mistaken the real advantage to the "adjuster" is to increase the ramp on the lift.. so it doesn't really meet the description of fastener...

Go to impound...drivers involved put on 10oz gloves....Marquess of Queensberry rules sure would make impound more interesting

Re: Goodbye National Racing
So, if this is a way for the SCCA to reduce classes, but not on the regional level.. how will there be two ways to the Runoffs? What classes will be eliminated? Do we as a CLUB have a say....UH..since they made the announcement, apparently we don't. Do I trust SCCA? Not much. As members of the CLUB,...

Re: Spec Tires
Jim,
We're on the same page and I agree that if Hoosier doubled their price, it could look attractive to another tire company, unless the potential profits from a limited market didn't offset the cost to go into production.

Re: Spec Tires
A monopoly is when a single firm produces a product, in this case a tire, that is unique and there is no substitute. They are the price makers, in that they control the entire supply side of the market. With a lack of competition, the pricing structure is set by the monopoly and is not necessarily a...

Re: F1200
While I agree with Steve and Mike about the hard work and dedication that wins championships the problem persists that we need new blood in the sport and to increase the participation numbers. Look at the MARRS series with the lap limiting. This is not a direction in which we need to be headed. Ther...

Re: Formula Vee Meeting during the Runoffs
Mark, You're correct, but even a $5000 ready to race Vee will be 20% of a "young Blood's" pre tax income. Al PS If we went to HD motors do you think SCCA would permit us to wear cut off jeans jackets, chrome half helmets and would our wives/girlfriends need to get tatoos on their lower bac...

Re: Formula Vee Meeting during the Runoffs
Perhaps the manifold issue is the straw that broke the camels back. Maybe the cost escalation is tied to the lack of new blood. We’re trying to attract the “younger” generation, but no one wants to give up what they’ve worked so hard or paid so dearly for. I did a Google search for average annual in...

Re: Formula Vee Meeting during the Runoffs
Jim, I agree not all cars are created equal when it comes to packaging, but I'm not saying that the manifolds should be changed before or during the qual.. & race. After would be fine. Then you have lots of time to use the borescope, satellite imaging or what ever means you use to align the mani...

Re: Formula Vee Meeting during the Runoffs
I was at the Runoffs meeting and my opinion on the manifold issue, is that trying to get everyone to agree on a solution is much like like herding cats. Since the spec manifold issue was raised at the meeting, with a reference to the the Australians, who went to a spec manifold a few years back (the...

Bobsy Vangard
Just bought a Vangard. Needs a few body panels, etc. Anyone out there have a Vangard I can look at to see how much will need to be done to restore this car.
