who runs the show?
SCCA is not the only game in town. It is driving people away with tactics like this.

Re: CFV at the ARRC ... if we want
The Atlanta Region is fortunate to have Butch's leadership at the ARRC. Every year that thing gets better. it will be a terrific place to showcase your idea. The FST boys should be licking their chops to make a good show this year and I'm betting they will. Even the Formula Ford national champ showe...

Re: CFV at the ARRC ... if we want
Lee: I think what you and your group is hoping to accomplish is great. Change does take time for people to absorb and embrace. FWIW, I would suggest that you continue the public discussion and target the ARRC in 2009 as the kickoff and then begin the season-long class competition early in 2010. This...

Re: Super Vee wins Eagles Nest Hillclimb
John Finger is still active. usually seen driving something heavy with lots of motor these days. He was indeed the man at Chimney Rock & for a long time. I have an oil painting of a '72 Zink FSV that Harry Ingle drove that year. Ed only built 2 of them & John drove the other. Just a prince o...

Re: Where are all the video's ??
I enjoyed your Blackhawk video a lot. Mike Jackson keeps trying to get more of us rebels to go up there and test the VSCDA competition at BHF, Grattan, Mosport, etc. Way too far on $5 diesel this year, so I have to content myself vicariously. Would like to see more. My GoPro video of the '07 Gold Cu...

Ricky: You guys got a tow fund? Sorry - you paid even more to get to Savannah for the birthday party. I got my handling woes pretty much sorted - too late for the birthday party. Just in time for the Gold Cup. Have fun up there. One day me & Randall will make the trek. For sure not this ye...

Re: Low turnouts
"In my opinion, racing for $$ is a bad idea, especially in formula cars at the club level." Amen to that! My few forays into racing for money taught me that people will spend 2 to 4 times as much to race for a paltry purse as they will for a trophy. At Grand Prix Greensboro we have resiste...

Re: Low turnouts
For some at least, vintage FV is an answer. The racing is real and in some places the fields are very good. VSCDA which operates in the CenDiv area draws 25 or more cars at most races and they get their own run group - just like the good old days. In the SE, VDCA is doing a good job & we draw go...

Re: VIR Gold Cup video
Wouldn't you know it. I forgot to mount the camera this year & I won the darn thing. They did a split start and let the Vee's go first. I only crossed the line in first 2 times - when the green fell and when the checker fell. Great race with my buddy Randall Yow in the ex-Gordon Drysdale Lynx. M...

Re: VIR Gold Cup video
Steve: Oh, hell no. Mike would never sell it. I just have to chase it all the time at the vintage races. I managed to whup him last September twice at Roebling. Once by about 3 feet & the other by a car length. He was down on power. In December, back at Roebling again, I lost the motor, but befo...

John, Looks like a great (and VERY aggravating) race. I think you need to work on getting 2nd gear in that thing! (and putting a chrome horn on the front! :) ) You should probably also take that FLAG off the front - don't you realize how much that's slowing you down??!! I think 'fonzy' must not hav...
