Well, I had a deal on the car but the buyer backed out, too far of a drive to pick up. So, I'm going to put the same deal on here now. $5,500 FIRM with trailer $4,500 FIRM without trailer Here's the package: Mid 70's D-13 Satterly regional motor Lybarger short-box Transponder. 5 sets of tires - 8 mo...

Re: Caldwell D-13 for sale
FYI - car is still for sale, willing to entertain reasonable offers on the car only, without the spare body or spare beam. Individual spare parts are now being offered: Beam - drum to drum - asking $500 Complete Body, good shape - no idea what that's worth, let's say $750? $1,000 with the nose mold...

Will sell: Car with all wheels and tires, buyer can choose which body they want, and will throw in a spare nose for $4,300 firm. Buyer gets first option on Transponder which I'll include f...

Re: Caldwell D-13 for sale
I'm getting a number of inquires from people interested in the spare beam, long box, data and radios. At this point - no offers yet, but I've decided to offer a "lite" package - lol
Everything EXCEPT spare beam, long box, data system and radios for $5,000, or $6,000 with the trailer.

Caldwell D-13 for sale
I've tried and tried to come up with a way not to, but there's no alternative - can't afford to race anymore and the car has to go. Will be pulling the car out of the trailer over the weekend and clean-up and take care of a few things - may be able to get updated pics at that time. Mid 70's D-13 Sa...

Re: Reading data
It is a PI System 2 - whether it's been updated for more channels I couldn't tell you - I got it used a year ago and never got around to putting it in the FST car, so we are going to put it into the D13. This is a whole new world for me.

I'm putting a used PI/2 system into the D13 for this season and will be looking for a mentor to help with getting it set up and understanding it. Any PI/2 users in Vee land?

Re: Midwest FV Drivers Association
What is the status of this - http://www.formulaveeracing.org/Association.html ? Is this operational? Would it make sense to focus on an overall "US FV Driver's Club" and then, similar to SCCA really, have regional "chapters" as Brian suggested. If the goal is overall growth and p...

Re: Tire Changer
For what it's worth, I use an old center post manual bead breaker / changer. The newer construction tires (2010+) take some serious effort to mount. I have done 100's of tires over the past years so I have a good technique, but expect to be sweating. I suppose it depends how often you'll be doing i...

Tire Changer
I've decided to invest in a tire changer and would be interested in recommendations for a manual changer. Are there any specifically made to accommodate the VW rims? If not, is there an adapter that can be purchased or what have people done?

Re: which long box
Thanks!
I guess if the "traditional" preferred box for RA is the long box with the 1:22, then I got lucky! lol
No idea what third my shortbox has, but I'm sure I will find out by spring.
Thanks again

which long box
Not that it really matters since I already acquired a long box with the 1:22 third gear, but, just for my own education, what are the benefits and drawbacks of the various 3rd gear choices in long boxes? Can the third gear be changed? The one I acquired needs to go back to LRE for some work anyway, ...

Bob, Looks like your website needs some serious updating now that you're "back in the [FV] fold" :P Hope the D-13 works out better for you. Also hope EVERYONE has a GREATER 2012 (assuming we all LIVE to see it - EndOfDays and all that...). Steve, FV80 Yes, the website is terribly out of d...
