Flagtronics
For any of you that live in another universe and have NOT heard about this.. Flagtronics ( https://Flagtronics.com ) has developed a new device for our cockpits. It provides the driver with a live/realtime 'picture' of corner (THE corner you are at, or are approaching) flag status continuously throu...

Re: Board ANNOUNCEMENT ! and DONATIONS ...
I was doing some maintenance today and noticed that the DONATE link to paypal was BROKEN. I have fixed it now - on the https://FormulaVee.us/donations.html webpage so that all of you that have been 'stifled' at NOT being able to donate can now 'get it done'

Loss of TWO SCCA Solo drivers last Sunday at ProSolo in WA
Just a reminder to everyone, that NO ONE is 'safe' any more. If you don't subscribe to the SCCA 'Up to Speed' emails, it's reported there. Few details, but I never expected to hear this happening at a SOLO event .. although I think ProSolo is actually TWO cars at a time. The parking lot around the '...

CHANGE IN RAIN LIGHT REQUIREMENTS FOR FV 1/1/24
Just to let everyone know, SCCA has 'unilaterally' decided to REQUIRE a new ~$200 FIA Certified rain light on our cars for next year and beyond. I have created a POLL about this over on ApexSpeed.com if you wish to place a 'vote' about it. https://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?96214-NEW-PO...

Re: Which Vee is this?
Rob, We need to see more pictures with the bodywork off, but I don't think it's a 'name brand'. It's obviously been doing AUTOCROSS in it's most recent life (C-Mod) and the tires/wheels/engine. The engine is a later model - probably a 1600 base with oversize jugs - the biggest I've seen is just unde...

Formula Vee's at Indy GP Course in June with Trans AM
For those of you that have not received the Invitation I sent out via the FV Registry. Have you raced the Indianapolis GP track yet?? If you haven't (or even if you have), there is an event the weekend after the PIRC 60th -Fri/Sat/Sun - June 16, 17 and 18. Back to back weekends are often not the bes...

Re: Blue Coil
Even though I DO have 'bosch blue' in both my cars, IMHO coils are not really very important beyond the fact that they WORK.. and if you are using a 'standard' point set or a 'regular' Pertronix or equivalent ignition, that you be sure you have a coil with 'adequate' internal resistance .. i.e. 'aro...

Dietmar,
How's things? Getting down the stairs OK these days? Hope this knee is working out at least as well as the first one. Linda is still doing great. She's pretty much over it now. Just like she never had a problem in the first place - only better.

Dietmar,
It's been 2 weeks now .. hope the 2nd knee is going as well as the first. I'm happy to report that Linda's hip replacement went fabulously and she seems to be about 90% healed up and ready to go now. She had her 6 week's visit with the doc yesterday and all reports are good.

Good luck, D. My results were pretty good. Hope yours as well.. I would expect you to be (capable of) back in the shop 48 hours post surgery. Maybe not extremely mobile, but able to get around. Re: Blood on the car...
It's all about 'group count parity'.. with only 2 OW groups ..and wings in one group and small bore NONwings in the other.. the general car count per group is loaded high in the wings group (since there are some SIX classes in that group) as opposed to only THREE classes in the small bore group. Tha...

Re: Blood on the car...
Thanks, Barry - hope your wound heals quickly and nicely. As opposed to your situation, I routinely bleed on my cars.. all over them... and the floor of the shop too 8) . This year is looking 'not so good' for me. SCCA has decided that it MUST add FC to the small bore open wheel group and I've reach...

Re: Steering wheel / front tire angle
Barry, I can't tell you the ANGLE.. but a standard box with standard arms requires about 3/4 steering wheel revolution from straight ahead to full lock in either direction.. Approx 1.5 turns lock to lock (IIRC). Not sure what you are trying to DO that would require you to KNOW that. It's just a 'fac...
