I second the vote for Brian McCarthy. His transmissions are fantastic.

I found that if you don't use teflon tape it will leak pretty bad. Try that and see how it works.

Re: Tires for Portland
Are you able to run racing slicks? I have a set of used Hoosier tires I could sell. If you have to run grooved vintage tires, good luck finding them used. Likely will need to buy new. I typically buy my Hoosier tires from Jim at SR Racing (sponsor of this site. Click on the RaceCarSupply banner at t...

Re: Was Brad's Brundage Cup block OK?
After seeing the video here: http://www.wedgeracing.com/video/Brad-Roger%20Brundage%20Finish%202013.avi I'd have to say that wasn't nearly as bad as described. That may be a little aggressive, but I have no problem with it. I have certainly seen much worse. It is hard to tell exactly who moved first...

Re: Was Brad's Brundage Cup block OK?
Well said Chris.
A defensive line to make it harder to get by you is not a block and totally fine.
Making multiple moves to make it impossible to get by is a block.
That's my opinion anyway.

Hoosier FV Tires - Sticker Slicks
R55 compound, standard fronts, standard rears. These were purchased late last year. I planned to run them this year but sold my car. Unmounted, brand new. Stored over the winter in my coat closet in black plastic trash bags. How about $650 per set? I have two sets. If you want both, we can call it $...

Who said intentionally? Um, Brian Harding did, and then you did. "after all you let him win by not taking him out." - Brian Harding "I hate to say it, but Brian does have a point, although a rather expensive one if you're involved!" - You I don't see any ambiguity in the phrase ...

I'm sorry, but intentionally wrecking someone is never okay, and anyone who does it should be banned from the sport.

Re: Was Brad's Brundage Cup block OK?
I did not see it either. I think making 1 single move is acceptable defense of your position. However, once you make that move, you have played your hand. Roger should have gone left once Brad went right. That said, if Roger had a wheel next to him, I believe Brad is obligated to leave him a car wid...

Re: Rear Axle Nuts
What I used to do, and planned to do again, is use a long tube and apply a specific weight value at a specific distance. For example, for 325 ft/lbs, apply 110 pounds of force at a distance of 3 feet, or apply 55 pounds at 6 feet (330 ft/lbs). The torque application has to be near horizontal to wor...

Re: Starter Wiring
The other wires may be for a jumper battery. My car has a heavy wire off the starter terminal (8 mm nut) to a quick disconnect. There is also a ground out of that quick disconnect that I grounded on a transmission stud. As stated before, you only need the two wires for the starter to work. IF you ha...

If you get the right combo of shims you can get rid of the rocking motion. Just make sure it does not drag, or you are giving up speed. Mike includes a set of shims of varying thicknesses. If you can rock it top to bottom, try taking out two thin and insert one of the thicker ones. If that doesn't w...

Turn the wheel 10 times and count the number of shaft turns. That will tell you what the final ratio is. Easy to calculate from there.
