Re: PROMO DVD Project Status Report
Just so everyone knows where things are right now. I've gotten some film to go through and two more on the way to creating a draft presentation. Thanks to all for the effort! I also have more contributions to list, and will update that soon. The war chest is near $400 now, which is very cool. Things...

Re: Promoting Formula Vee
In my own view, the priorities are: 1.) Draw attention to the class by those potentially interested in it. This will come most effectively from existing FV drivers and vendors promoting potential new entries and inactive drivers to come to FV. Their is no more effective approach than word of mouth. ...

Re: Latest Fastrac
Given the recent inclusion of adjustable cam gears (never an OEM part), the ignition modules drop-in (electronic ignition was never offered in any 1200cc VW motor), the amount of grinding, bending, twisting, stretching, and "adjusting" allowed in engine prep all over, the idea that adjusti...

Kevin, I haven't forgot about you, I just realized I didn't do a video for you yet. Hopefully I get it done shortly I just need to spend some time to get spots from different tapes of different tracks with some action on it and put it all on one tape. Ed Best not to make copies of original tapes if...

Kevin, I'm trying to get a couple other Vee drivers over here so we can do a video showing 3 different cars at once. It should provide some good info - ... *IF* we can get it done. ... I understand that some SCCA ISAAC users were seeking a ruling with regards to 20.4 by using 13.9 However, the POSITIVE responses on inquiries through 13.9 ARE NOT PUBLISHED, only the negative ones. I have a couple of videos and a few photos contriuted so far. Enough to get started. Thanks to everyone who has sent me content!
The last couple weeks have been consumed by work and a trip to the PRI show. I will get started on a rough cut soon, using what I have. More as it develops.

Re: New HANS device info
Kevin, great information in your posts. Thanks. What system do you use? I'm now using the Hutchens D-Cel. This is the simplest and least intrusive restraint (least bulky and clumsy), and can be used in the race car as well as my street car when I do track days, since it is not dependant on the belt...

Some applications notes after many discussions and evaluation of available options: The one thing all restraint systems depend upon is proper fitment. A Hans, or Hutchens Hybrid device, fitted properly and adjusted correctly, probably produces the highest level of protection. However, just because i...

Re: New HANS device info
I heard that about D.E. too and was amazed. I learned later at a SCCA safety symposium that it was the vector speed or the speed of the car snapping around to the wall that caused the damage. D.E. also wore his belts loose, and improperly attached, causing it to fail diring the impact at some point...

Re: New HANS device info
Looked at the new Hans at the show. Nice piece and great price. If I could get one in my car, I'd do it. In my case, I would have to modify the fuel cell, the main body, the harness connection point, and the roll bar down-tubes. Even then I would have a hard time getting into the car wth the device,...

Just so we are clear and have no missed opportunities... Video that has been compressed for use on You Tube and other on-line locations is won't provide high enough quality for a DVD presentation.
