What does everyone think of that Match format?
My feelings are that they will not have the attendance they might be hoping for. It's a $95 entry and if you don't make the cut on Sat. you are done. $95 for 3 runs..
I hope they drop that idea..

I ask you, when will the drama queens and their references to valve covers coming off die off?

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
Huh? The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated! I have submitted my requests to the SEB and will add the one for a change to C/Mod although I have to say that there will be a great resistance from that group regarding our inclusion into their group. I think I was among their top 5 two ye...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
300 lbs of downforce! That's beautiful... However, in regard to the downforce being applied only at the contact patch, since the elements that are generating that force are attached to the chassis the chassis would have to be able to hold the components in place and the suspension would have to keep...

How in the heck do you guys copy those previous posts into a new one? Vreihen, ( What a weird name!) Your post was brilliant; however I struggled with the Wookie and the Ewoks reference.. I repeat, I do not think two carbs give you much other than a quicker throtle response. I am sure that eve...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
In all fairness, you are right. I was not there and maybe the photo I saw was somehow not a prime example of the obviously superb handling that thing must have; however, we are free to discuss this and any other issue on this site to get a better understanding of what is going on. I also have to als...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
LOL! That's so funny! Yeah, I was proven wrong in my protest against Scott but that doesn't mean that I wouldn't protest you... and looking into your motor is a lot easier than a VW.. If there isn't someone out there to keep us honest it opens up the door for anyone to cheat! Besides if you were roa...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
Okay, I do know about the 1" deviation rule and unfortunatly they will be able to exploit that rule but we will not, as our body width is limited to something like the width of the frame. I forget but they just rewrote the rules to not allow any tinkering in that area. Having said that, isn't t...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
Thanks much for the address.... I believe since we do not know whether a move to C/Mod would be allowed, we should continue to discuss and submit our suggestions to improve our cars to run against the 500's.. Anyone up for it? How many are even visiting any longer? Anyway, after finding some pics of...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
I'm torn... I really want to be able to get on top of those 500's but maybe a move to C/Mod might be a good one. You have to consider that the top running 500's are beating them consistently.. I was at a test event last year before all my troubles and I was running comparable to Don Elzinga. It was ...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
LOL! I knew it. Okay. I will go along with going to C/mod but I am sure they would not be happy about it. At this point I am going to suggest a bump in compression and a lighter flywheel as improvements. They are inexpensive and would do wonders for acceleration. I realize that we will never be as q...

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
Okay.. After some quick investigation, I have learned that there are cars out there running 8 lb. flywheels. Therefore, I would also suggest that we are allowed a minimum weight of 8 lbs for the flywheel. Now I will look into clutch packs... Bear with me.. I told you it would be a shotgun approach.....

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
Okay... I would give up the valve size but remove the "unshrouding of the valves is not allowed" provision... However, 10.5:1 would be a good start and reduce the flywheel weight.. Currently 12 lbs. I have no idea what the lower limit is but I will look into it..
More later..

Re: Rewrite of Solo Vee Rules
Wow! You guys have been busy! I am way behind in this thread so I will just add my comments in a shotgun format.. :P WIngs add drag and I don't think that we have the power to pull one through the air. Underbody ground effects would be difficult because our cars are so narrow and the development cou...

How did the F500????
I am wondering what with all the rules changes that we got, how have they gotten even faster without any new rules changes? I remeber the day when we were typically much closer to them back before the rules change. Does anyone dare to shine some light on this issue? Having said that, I still feel th...

vreheim,
Sorry. I misunderstood your intent. I have devised an evil plan.....
What type of activation would you have inside the nose cone? You would still have to use the clutch of course...
Interesting though....
Thanks

Yep... That is correct but for some reason he was listed as being in his car on the first day and I was truly impressed. Although I will say that he did have a good showing at the Divisionals in his car...
