Re: My letter about the FV spec intake
Hi Bruce, I've also had some correspondence with someone in Australia and what he said is basically the same as what you posted. He also said that many of the top runners almost immediately switched to the 1600 engine though so I'm wondering how much emphasis there was on developing the hp for the 1...

Re: March Roebling National?
Nope, I haven't seen it either. I figured they are waiting until after the driver school this weekend for some reason. Of course it might be a challenge for me to get my trailer to my house with all the snow we are getting here in VA!

Re: January meeting
There's been a misinterpretation of what the January minutes meant regarding the spec. manifold. We are not presuming that the membership is in favor of a spec. manifold. We are simply asking for feed back on our assumption as to the nature of the most desirable spec. manifold. Bruce, Why go throug...

Re: January meeting
I think that Jim has some excellent questions. While I thought this might be a spec manifold might be a good idea when I first heard about it, I have now changed my mind because I think there are too many unanswered questions. Not about the testing but all the "what ifs" that we can't answ...

I joined this year and have been using it some. I have found that driving the simulated cars is tougher then driving actual race cars! I have been having fun with it though and I think that it is a useful tool especially for learning new tracks. Even though you don't get the "feel" of actu...

Speaking of SRFs -- check out these videos. One from inside the car and one from outside. This happened this past weekend on the straight at Summit Point. The 2nd video actually has two wrecks in it but the one I'm referring to happens towards the end. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI5Y7Nl2Bic http...

Bob,
I would look into using master cylinders with a remote reservoir and installing a ride height adjuster in the beam.

I received an email from Kevin apologizing for his actions and that he indeed confused some of our letters with letters regarding another issue. We all make mistakes so I give credit to Kevin for admitting it and apologizing.

Re: Oil Sump Rule Change
What is "not happening"? Dry sumps or extended wet sumps? We're talking about two different things here. My email was in regards to the sump extension proposal in the Fast Track so that is what Kevin is referring to. Although, based on his response, I seriously doubt that an allowance for...

Fyi, I just got this email from the SCCA Club Office in response to my email on the subject. Did anybody else get an email?
I do not know who stirred this up again, but it is not happening. Please tell your fellow competitors.

Re: Promotion Idea
I have said this before, but.. We have a lot of walk-in SCCA racers, Solo, NASA, NHRA, etc. They drool over the stock cars, exotics, even the FST's. But they seldom even look at the Vee's. We even build a lot of VW street engines and work on some Bugs. Those guys don't even seem interested in the V...

I have talked about this before but this is my second year of taking my car to car shows. Of course, there are lots of questions about the car and our racing so I'm happy to answer any...

This is the last update from Anne Callihan on the MARRS FV email list. This was posted on 5/13 and Anne is currently out of town. GREAT NEWS! Barring any sudden change in his condition, Harry is going home tomorrow! Physically, he's in pretty good shape. Home based therapy (provided by the hospital)...

Re: NE DIV Summit Point National
Basically all the DNFs were involved in a first turn incident on the first lap. It had rained overnight and there was only one race before us so the track was still damp in some places and Turn 1 was slick. A F500 spun and Jim Oseth had no place to go and hit him as he was backwards. Unfortunately t...

Re: harry mcmahon/summit sat apr 18th
I wasn't there but as I understand it Harry and another driver interlocked wheels going down the chute at Summit Point. Harry's car was launched very high into the air and landed on it's nose but then wound up on it's roll bar and skided down the track. Harry's helmet came off in the process.

Anne Callihan of the DC Region has been updating the MARRS FV List. Here is her latest update which she sent yesterday. It looks like it is $275 per car if you register by 6/12/2009 and $325 if you register after 6/12.

Hi Dietmar, I find it hard to believe that only two letters were sent in regards to the proposed manifold rules. I know I sent an email to the bod and crb. Matt, Glad I could help you out -- just ask if you need anything else. Most of what you say is 100% correct and you made me think back to how I got involved. I'm sure there are a lot of similar stories from other racers but I basically ended up being introduced to Glen Sullivan through a mutual frie...
