Re: What kinda vee is this ???? HELP....
Veefan, To the untrained eye the frames may look similar, but to someone that's known Zinks (either Z5 or C4, no Z4s or C5s) since 1967, and has raced them in vintage trim since 1998, I can assure you the frame is not a Zink. It is quite different in fact. The differences would take more than a few ...

I have a rough one stashed away. I'll pull it out, see how complete it is, send or post some pictures and then you may decide if you want it or not.

Re: Need opinion on car to use for drivers school
OK, you asked for opinions, I'm offering up mine. Don't attend a driver school until your own car is done, including a practice day to sort it out. That way, you will have a permit and a car to race. If you rent a car at a school, you may earn your permit, but if your car takes another year to finis...

Re: FasTrack FV Final Manifold Rules Proposal
Just curious. In all the discussions about measuring manifolds, was measuring a manifolds total volume ever suggested?
There is only one way to do it. Only so many cc's will fit. Kinda like combustion chamber volume.

There is End Play and Ring Gap. I don't think anyone refers to an "end gap". This may be where the confusion began.
I truly believe no one was asking about Ring gap, but heck, I could be wrong too.

Roger, Listen to John when he says listen to Steve. What Steve didn't tell you in so many words, but he was eluding to is this: (Sorry Steve, but I'm about to put words in your mouth.) We have all seen the racer show up with a fresh engine either built by their buddy that has built many VW engines, ...

Some of you may remember this Auto D advertised for sale last year. It's been recently finished (by Bob Shedd) and is beautiful. Well, you've changed so many things, I certainly hope your problem has gone away, but you may never know what it specifically was. I had the exact same problem. Car ran fine for most of the session, but towards the end, it would cut out, burble coming out of right hand turns. As Brian said earlier, ...

Planning to buy an FV does not make someone an FV driver either per se. Stephen, If growing FV fields is the objective, then heck yes, prospective buyers of FV should be heard as well. They may not have a dog in the fight, but if a rule change prompts them to buy a dog, well then... Obviously, thei...

Re: Lynx trailing arms Zbar hardware wanted
fvkartguy, In FV speak, those are leading arms. The references "trailing" and "leading" are referring to where the axle is in relation to the arm's pick-up. One way to help remember: Some people refer to the 4 parts in the front beam as upper and lower trailing arms. I suspect Li...

Re: Vintage Charging system
Actually, I know a couple people that run that combination (12VDC system w/6VDC gen.) and it marginally works for them. There is no charging going on at lower RPMs. If you are an autocrosser, it may not work very well. Paul, what you may not be aware of is the 12VDC generator has a much larger diame...
