Re: Where do you test a new car?
I checked the time trials and the car has to be race ready and I have to have a Novice License so that is out. I will try the autocross. The Martin Club has moved to the Lake County Police Skid pad since 9/11. Security at the defense plant caused the move. Back in the 80's, I used to take my 2 sons ...

Re: Where do you test a new car?
Does my car have to be "race ready" to run at the Roebling Time Trials? I don't have a fuel cell yet, still running the factory aluminum can from 1969! I can run that at autocross though.

Where do you test a new car?
When I finally get my Zeitler done, I want to take it somewhere to test it out. Not racing, just check the brakes, shifter, performance, fit etc. My neighborhood and the local Sheriff would not be happy with me running it down our streets (although I have thought about doing it). I don't have my com...

1972 Zink Z4/Z5
I was going to autocross this car but this is too nice and should be put back on the track in Vintage. This is JR Russell's (of Roxannes Headers) 72 Zink. He drove this car for many years in the Central Florida Region SCCA. He will give me a lot of paperwork for the car next month, even the logbook ...

Update on DVD
I am working on the DVD and just waiting on 1 more video to be mailed to me. I have decided to do 6 mini movies to put up on Youtube. All will go on the DVD. Youtube is the best place to put them and will be viewed by many potential FV'rs. The mini movies are 30-45 seconds long, sortof like a super-...

Mahl Piston spot color
Does anyone know what the spot of paint means on the MAHL piston/cylinders? I have seen them with red or blue spots but cannot find any info on it. I bought 3 new (very old in the box) 1200 pistons and cylinders and wonder what the color means. Thanks.

Re: Anyone looking for a 1915 engine in Florida?
It was a local guy who is going to put it in his 63 Bus to give it more pulling power. It should be great for that! I am keeping the Dellortos and may drop them on a 1600 and put that engine in the ASP for SOLO. Heading to Tennessee, Virginia and Maryland for a week.

Re: Anyone looking for a 1915 engine in Florida?
I am going to pull the valve covers next week to verify it but they are supposed to have 40x35.5 heads. I am going out of town tomorrow and back next Sunday. Will check then. When I crank up this engine, it sounds MEAN!!!!! If you are near Orlando, come by and see it and hear it in the car.

Re: Anyone looking for a 1915 engine in Florida?
You are correct. The guy I bought the car from did not care what class he was going to run in. It would have been B-Mod with dual carbs. He also put $600 worth of Yokohama tires on it that I can't use. They are also brand new but they are 15 inch, probably not good for SOLO. He never got a chance to...

Anyone looking for a 1915 engine in Florida?
I am thinking about putting the 72 Zink back to Vintage so I will have a brand new 1915 for sale. It was bought from Appletree and has never been run. It is in the car but has only been started in the garage. Engine was $3000 and then they added $1000 dual Dellortos. I would sell the engine without ...

Re: on ebay
The nose is actually from the ASP/Ventura that I bought from him. I have a photo of what the car looked like when it was raced. It is a Frier F5, built and raced by Hoyt Frier. he won the 1980, 1981 and 1982 Regional Championships in it. I bought the extra car and a ton of FV parts including a NOS b...

Looks like Region 11, south Florida. I will try and contact that region and see if anyone recognizes the car.
