Brian,
If the number under the generator stand starts with the letter H , that case is from a '67-69 1500 cc engine. Not a 40 hp engine. Reference http://www.thesamba.com technical information.

I have a couple of re-builds in process, should be available soon depending on whether the weather cooperates and I can run the dyno outside.

Re: Wheel cover ban
Jim, Sure but is this what we want for the future direction of F Vee? There seems to be a very elite of front runners who have something the rest of us only aspire to. I think even if I bought a $7000 engine I would still not have the horsepower of the top few. True I don't have the driving skill of...

Re: Wheel cover ban
Michael, Let me add my congrats on a great race, your prep and your driving are fantastic. Re the spats: to me it's a stretch to call them bodywork when they are not attached to the body and even if they are deemed to meet the letter of the rules and don't think they meet the intent of the rule. How can you assure me? Did you design them? Spec them, make them?

Stevan,
Looking at the pictures, it looks like the front of the covers is beyond the front of the axle beam. But it hard to say.

Re: Wheel cover ban
I thought "bodywork" could not extend beyond the shock towers. If these spats, pants whatever are considered bodywork how can they be outboard of the shock towers?

Re: Wheel cover ban
I never supported any of these either but I'm stuck spending $$$$$$$$ to try to keep up. Those wheel covers won't make Vee racing any more fun it's just more expense which eliminates a few more potential or existing competitors.

Re: Wanted Parts
Jeff,
I'm in Belleville, MI just west of Detroit. Don't know if it's worthwhile to ship (probably about $200 for shipping) or if you want to pick it up. Asking $120 for the beam.

Long Box or Short Box
I've heard both are used at Road America. Any opinions? Advantages/disadvantages? What kind of RPM will a short box make into 3 or Canada corner?

Well, now that we have a "spec tire" can we all agree to have Hoosier make it a harder longer lasting compound???

Why do we get AA to make them with a 2.5 mm groove. Looks like all the AA stuff is cnc machined.

I need some Protoform pieces scoops and a couple of noses. Does Dave Green still make them? The last time I tried to get in touch with him I had no luck.
Anyone know where I can get them?

Re: case sealing
I use Kuril T for the case halfs. It's easy to work with, cleans up well but it is expensive. I think the vintage engine should be checked the same as a non-vintage. With the engine running on a level surface, oil level should be at the full or a little above. Anything less and there is a danger of ...

Re: Vee & PI Data Parts For Sale
Pi system is for parts, I could not get a reliable wheel speed signal so I don't want to sell it as a complete working system. If anything I sell doesn't work, return it for a refund.
