Re: Re-tire my Vee
Butch, I heard from CVAR member whom attenderd the Birthday part, (Fred with the nice Form Car), He said that the Hoosier Rep. informed them they are going to be making a "proper" vintage vee tire. Is this true, do you know when? Also saw at our latest event, what seemed to be a smaller di...

Re: Vintage Vee backdating
Hey EriK, quite the pictures! Your old Lynx Vee looks like the previous owner had it a number of years and it went through all the "speed tricks" of the day, I loved the original style tail with the big square intake box graffed on. Straight from early 70's when guys were trying to find wa...

Re: Autodynamics vee? Help needed
Dan, I've seen the car on the previous owners web site. and now it is a very nice looking car! I can't say that was always true back in it's SCCA days. With young family and limited time & funds I used to run nationals with the Comet in the NE. So keeping up with body work was not high on the li...

Re: Autodynamics vee? Help needed
I wouldn't discount the idea this is a home built vee? Looks like someone took a number of ideas from other builder of the time and incorperated into his own design. This was very common of the era, many "specials" were built by individuals before technology took over mfg. many of these Am...

Re: Ceramic coating pistons
how did 1959 get into the discussion? FV came into being in 1963/64, most vintage groups including the Monoposto allow up to 1969, some groups like CVAR allow up to 1972.

Re: Ceramic coating pistons
Good gosh I would not tell anyone either....For fear they would laugh about me wasting money on this for 1200 CC 50 HP engine turning around 5800 RPM with maybe 7.5:1 compression. Hardly anything like a high strung bike motor, even most stock ones! Also this is vintage!!!!! A simple rule to go by, W...

Re: How much engine is too much?
In vintage racing different groups have different rules. Check out the rules with who you plan to run with. In the NE many follow the Monoposto rules for FV. Go to their web site to get the complete break down on what is or isn't allowed http://www.monoposto.com/

At CVAR, due to the way point are awarded, most of our FV group moved from slicks to vintage treaded tires. Both Hoosier and Dunlop types have been tried. At first the Hoosiers were popular because of price and durability. the Dunlops have proven with all drivers that tried them to be faster. Tire l...

Kieth A real decent looking vintage Vee. Looks like it was actively run, with a taller legal roll bar but no front roll bar was ever added. Only close up observation will tell if it can be called race ready. but at $3000 it seems well priced, with a good looking body and chassis. That cell is a ques...
