Re: Starter Wiring
So maybe I have a short between the ignition switch and battery? Let me make sure I have this straight... I should have: 1) a heavy gauge wire from the positive side of the battery to the terminal with the nut, which I do right now. 2) another wire from the ignition switch to the blade of the "...

Re: Starter Wiring
That makes sense and was what I was thinking.
I still don't get the wires that are there but oh well.

Starter Wiring
Can anyone tell me how to properly wire a starter?
I'm reassembling an old Caracal and I'm not sure the starter was installed properly before.
As far as I can tell, I have one wire from the positive terminal of the battery, one from the negative (ground), and one to ground through the ignition switch.

Wheels/Tires
I'm just wanting to get my FST rolling so I can load it up in the trailer. I was going to use some wheels and tires I have laying around, but not sure if they'll work. I think the wheels are from a Rabbit?! They say "5-1/2Jx13 H2" and "321 601 025G" The tires are old worn out Hoo...

WANTED: relatively inexpensive car near TX
Have a friend who might be interested in trying out either Formula Vee or First...
Does anyone have a relatively inexpensive car (possibly slider) near Texas?
Just testing the waters for now. I might let him try out my old car, but he mentioned getting his own FV or FST project underway soon.
Thanks!

VW Engine Rebuild
I'm rebuilding a stock 1600cc engine for street use and wasn't sure what kind of balancing would be necessary. I've built a street engine from new parts and didn't bother with balancing since it wasn't a high performance engine, but this time I'm using some old, used parts, so does that change anyth...

Re: Front End Parts
I think these are the only king pin spindles I have.
I also have the king pins, shims, and offset bushings.
If you just want the spindles, I can assemble all of this.

Re: Front End Parts
Sorry guys, I lied. I don't have a COMPLETE front end. I'm missing at least the roll bar (stole it for another project) and don't think I have a sway bar spacer... Other than that I MIGHT have everything else for a front end, but would have to look through my extra hardware stock to know for sure. H...

Porsche 911 Ignition
I realize this isn't exactly FV-related, but I'm having trouble finding a good 911 forum... My dad recently inherited a 1975-ish 911s Targa and I was wondering if there would be any problem with me throwing a pertronix electronic ignition in there even though it's a 6-cylinder... I don't see why the...
