Offset Key installation
Offset Key installation
Help me make sure - I have a -3 key - looking from the pulley end to the flywheel end what side does the offset sit?
Re: Offset Key installation
you want the CRANK gear to rotate couterclockwise on the crankshaft.
If you have a key with just a section cut out, the cut out would be on the right side of the key looking at it from the top down
If you have a true offset key with an overhang on one side and a cut out on the other, the overhang is on the left and the cut is on the right.
And just because you have a -3 key does not necessarily mean you will have -3 degree retard. Need to do a cam timing check.
Not sure?
