Offset bushings

Post by Dietmar »

I have had two sets of spindles/carriers come through here the last month or so, both had offset bushings with a request to replace the king pins ( rebuild the assembly). In both sets the offset bushing had not been "faced" to match the carrier.
Since the offset bushings ends are actually "crooked" -for lack of a better word, and extend beyond the carrier faces, they need to be machined to match, otherwise the shims get pinched and there really is not much of a camber change.

Just another ..."thought I would pass this on" while enjoying sunny California and 4.70 gas prices

Some people are just lucky...

Thanks for the information, hopefully someone benefits from your experience.
