Okay.. Just how big is that site in comparison to say HPT?
I'm dreaming of renting a motorhome/camper for the week and grilling out every evening.. Doesn't get much better than that.. Except for the comraderie (sp?) and the racing of course!
I'm voting for this site for Nats! LOL

It's only 450 feet wide, but the word is that if Nats goes there we will have he entire ramp and the old Bomber Alert Area. The BAA could be used as a test and tune course all week. On the other hand, Lincoln is much, much bigger. It would be possible to set up four Forbes type courses and still have room left over. There's an idea. Set up four courses and everyone runs all four days!

Re: Autocross in Blytheville AR Oct 11/12
The area we are running on is 450' X 1400'. The area for parking and grid is 450' X 500'. For comparison, an NHRA 1/4 mile is 1320 feet long. The area allowed for our use is half of what would be available for Nationals. For Nats, an additional onsite pad would be made available for a permanent tuneup course using the B52 ready parking ramp, looks like a christmas tree on Google Earth. I have not compared the size to HPT, but I know from a personal onsite visit, and personal HPT participation, its larger, and no grass/dirt/mud parking. I have spoken personally with the Blytheville Mayor (at a Euro Fest get togethor, he was showing his 1960 Bugeye, a true car guy!), and he is committed to do what ever he can to get our business!
I'll check in again after next weekends event.

Yes, it is the Lincoln, NE airport. It was a SAC B-47 base. As far as I know it was unique because it had two bomber wings and one tanker wing. I have never heard of any other SAC base that had more than on bomber wing assigned at one time. I believe this may be the largest parking ramp ever built by the Air Force. Google image

WOW! That is huge.... You are talking about that slab of concrete off to the west side, right?
Is it undulating like most of those SAC fields? Is the concrete stable or broken up?
When are our fearless leaders going to make the call? Is it by next year or do we have that one back at HPT?
Thanks,
JGB

The surface is in great shape. It should have a little undulation. There are some fences reducing the usable area and there are some light poles. Nebraska region will be having an event on a small part of it on the 18th. The decision was supposed to be make by the 15th, but I expect it to be delayed a couple of weeks.
