Unbeknownst to each other, Johnny B. and I have both sent letters today to the SEB requesting that Solo Vees be allowed to use Dry sump systems. We would appreciate any letters sent to the SEB in support of dry sumps.

With FST being legal by the rule set it automatically makes dry sump legal.

I don't think that you can mix and match the rules like that, but I haven't read the book recently to know whether FST and Solo Vee are two different items under F-Mod.....

Formula First and Solo Vees are separate under the Solo rules. Just because it is legal for FST, it is not legal for Solo Vee.

The only way that a dry sump is currently legal in F-Mod is on a true FST car. You can't run the Solo Vee wheels/tires, engine specs, or anything that isn't 100% FST-legal, because you cannot swap allowances between the two different types of cars in F-Mod. If you could, I'd have a Rotax snowmobile engine on my Vee in a heartbeat.....

What is the reason to have a dry sump on a Vee?

More HP, Lower temps, less blow-by, and no oiling issues caused by G-forces.

Aww now I see how I thought they might be legal. I reread the rules and realized that the ball joint beam and disc brake options were opened in the solo vee options not due to the addition of fst being legal.
